The BlackBerry Storm is gorgeous. It becomes available tomorrow on Verizon in the US.  I’m unsure when this phone (made by a Canadian company) will actually be available in Canada.
Don’t panic, I’m still sticking with my iPhone. Click the photo for a review and more pics though if you’re interested. posted by marc tytus   posted on 20.11.08

You, Me, and the Bourgeoisie, The Submarines ~

I’m convinced that Apple invented some sinister algorithm that picks the syrupy-sweet songs for their iPhone ads… the music infects your brain and makes you happy. You want to hate it, you know you should hate it, but you just can’t.

How many problems can you spot with this passport? Seriously, it’s ridiculous. posted by marc tytus   posted on 20.11.08

Bon Iver just announced that they’ll be releasing a new EP, entitled “Blood Bank”, on January 20 in Canada and the U.S. I was lucky enough to catch Bon Iver play two of the EP’s tracks this past summer in New York and I have to admit that I wasn’t immediately blown away. A friend of mine described the tracks as sounding very Coldplay-ish. Regretfully, I think that’s a pretty accurate statement. I’m sure that they’ll begin to grow on me once I accept the fact that Justin Vernon’s heart can’t stay broken forever. It can’t be easy to try and write a followup to something like “For Emma, Forever Ago”, so I’ll cut him some slack until the next LP.

The tracklisting for “Blood Bank” is as follows:

  1. Blood Bank
  2. Beach Baby (really Bon Iver?)
  3. Babys
  4. Woods

In the meantime, check out an early recording called Hazelton. It was written by Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon before the band found any kind of success. I kind of love it.

(Also, the last two weeks of class are absolutely the hardest)

Bon Iver - Hazelton

These new fruitsource bars I got over the weekend are fantastic! Each bar is 100% fruit and, depending on the flavour, contains up to 3 full servings of fruit! There is no easier way to get your recommended number of servings of fruit and vegetables each day. It’s also a Canadian product which is good for the environment as well as my ego. I don’t know why these aren’t everywhere. They should be. Check out Sun-Rype for more “Real Fruit Goodness”! I need to try their fruit juices. posted by marc tytus   posted on 18.11.08

Pretty nice weekend spent mostly at home. I’ll have to post something about it later but while I was home I found this old video and decided to upload it. It’s of me at work last summer at eMotion. That desk was only temporary, by the way; kind of annoying to be beside the fridge and coffee machine. So yes, enjoy.

I’m finally starting to feel better. The night before last I had a terrible sleep and was positive I had E coli. I was freezing cold and couldn’t sleep. My stomach was cramped and my neck was just as bad. I had a terrible headache and my throat felt like I was ready to throw up even though I knew I wasn’t actually going to. I was also foaming out of the mouth.

Considering all that, I think I’m making quite the recovery. Still not 100% but the cloud has been lifted from above my head. Unfortunately it has been hard to fully get enough sleep in order to recover. Yesterday was a rediculously full day for me with I think four seperate meetings including a business lunch. I had an additional meeting I couldn’t make it to because it was scheduled on top of another meeting. At the end of the day, 7pm, I met with a groupmate to work on a group project where two out of the five other members decided not to provide us with their work. We had to write the whole project from scratch at that point, and we met again this morning to proof it and finish editing the essay before we hand it in at 1pm. I had to take my shift off work this morning as well because of this project unfortunately.

I won’t be able to get much sleep tonight either because of The Office and staying up late to work on the site. Friday I am visiting some friends for their birthday in London and Saturday I’m visiting home for the first time in a while. I think I might just sleep the whole day on Saturday.

OK - so this is far from the kind of media I initially intended on posting to this site, but this short speech is unbelievable. It is in regards to California’s Proposition 8, which would “restrict the definition of marriage to a union between a man and a woman.”

I really don’t see how anyone can argue in favor of Proposition 8 given the argument Olbermann lays out in this video.

But hey, I admittedly know very little about anything.
